Glenn Beck - "The Republic is Lost" PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jason Spatafore

So, I was listening to Glenn Beck on the way home (I left early today) and he was preaching about how much of a sad state of affairs our country is, etc. You know, his typical tirade and whining about how much American's are losing, etc. But said one thing that made me smile..."The republic is lost".

I think it's a great state in America to hear those words. Yes, the republic is finally lost? AWESOME!

So, we no longer have 5000 or so people managing our country? Now it's 250,000,000 people managing themselves? This is AWESOME news!

He goes on a tirade about "those people who live off the system" and all that crap. He bitches about maybe 3% of the population.

But he's not really getting the message people are saying.

Yes, we will work. People will work for money. But the corporation, as well as they are, is not the ONLY WAY to do it. The government can be 50% of the money and corporations and self-employed can be 50%. That will keep a better balance in this country.

BUT, it should ONLY be that way if true Democracy, where the people directly vote on every issue and government ran public media is the ONLY political media allowed, is allowed to flourish. Rome was great when they had a Democracy, it crumbled when it became a republic. Learn the lesson of the past.

Give people their right to vote on EVERY issue and make the elected officials be the "American Bitches" they should be. They shouldn't vote in a Senate, they should be the water boys of the public.

Bring the definition of "Public Servant" back to SERVING THE PUBLIC, not LEADING THE PUBLIC.

The people should lead. The government should be "by the people, for the people", and the people elected to serve should do just that...SERVE, not DECIDE.

I am not a communist, which many people call me. I am for Democracy with a commnistic community. I believe the government should be serving the people and the people should be deciding the direction. Right now, we have the opposite. We have the people serving the government...and it's been that way for 200+ years since our forefathers granted power to the few instead of the many.

Elected officials should be our "bitches"...of course, other (more politically correct) people can say it much nicer. But that is how it should be.
